Crispy Wonton Apple Pie Bites

Crispy Wonton Apple Pie Bites

Ingredients:
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
24 wonton wrappers
Vegetable oil for frying
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Caramel sauce for drizzling
Directions:
Prepare the Apple Filling:

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the chopped apples, granulated sugar, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well until the apples are evenly coated with the sugar and spices.
Assemble the Wonton Bites:

Place a small spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal. If needed, you can use a little water to help seal the edges.
Heat the Oil:

In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Wonton Bites:

Carefully add a few wonton bites to the hot oil at a time, frying them for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried wontons from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Finish and Serve:

While the wontons are still warm, dust them with powdered sugar. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
Enjoy your Crispy Wonton Apple Pie Bites!
