Crispy Chicken Strips with Honey Mustard Dip

Crispy Chicken Strips with Honey Mustard Dip

Ingredients:

1 lb chicken tenders or chicken breasts cut into strips
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Oil for frying (or cooking spray for air-frying)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Honey Mustard Dip:

1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

Marinate: In a bowl, combine chicken strips and buttermilk. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for extra tenderness).

Prep Breading: In a shallow dish, mix flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Coat Chicken: Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge the chicken strips in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

Fry or Air-Fry:
Frying: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken strips in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.

Air-Frying: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray. Arrange chicken strips in a single layer, spray the tops with cooking spray, and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Make Dip: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Serve: Garnish the chicken strips with fresh parsley and serve hot with the honey mustard dip.

Tip: These chicken strips are perfect for game day or a quick weeknight meal. Pair them with your favorite dipping sauces for a crowd-pleasing snack! 🍴
