WOULD YOU EAT THIS TREMENDOUS PIZZA SHEPHERD’S PIE
Ingredients:
For the Meat Mixture:
1 lb ground beef
1 cup pepperoni slices, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Mashed Potato Topping:
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cook the Meat Mixture:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
Stir in the chopped pepperoni, pizza sauce, black olives, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Assemble the Pie:
Spread the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the meat mixture.
Add the Mashed Potato Topping:
Spoon the mashed potatoes over the cheese layer, spreading them evenly with a spatula.
Sprinkle additional shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
Bake:
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
