Zesty and Moist Key Lime Pound Cake with Lime Glaze

Ingredients:
Cake:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Zest of 3 key limes
1/4 cup key lime juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Lime Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tbsp key lime juice
Zest of 1 key lime
Directions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt or loaf pan thoroughly.
Prepare the Batter: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the key lime zest, key lime juice, and vanilla extract.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, until the batter is smooth and well combined.
Bake the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Lime Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and key lime juice until smooth. Stir in the lime zest for extra flavor.
Glaze the Cake: Drizzle the lime glaze over the cooled cake, allowing it to cascade down the sides. Let the glaze set before slicing and serving.
