Caramel Crispix is an irresistible sweet and crunchy snack that’s perfect for parties or just as a treat. The crispy Crispix cereal is coated with a rich caramel sauce, making every bite addictive!
Ingredients:
12 cups Crispix cereal
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp baking soda
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, place 12 cups of Crispix cereal. Make sure you have a large enough bowl for easy stirring.
Make the Caramel Sauce:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda. The caramel will bubble and lighten in color after adding the baking soda, creating a smooth and fluffy texture.
Coat the Cereal:
Quickly pour the caramel sauce over the Crispix cereal. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold and toss the cereal until it is evenly coated with the caramel sauce.
Bake to Crisp:
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or non-stick foil.
Spread the caramel-coated cereal evenly on the baking sheets.
Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating and crispness.
Cool and Serve:
Remove from the oven and let the caramel Crispix cool completely on the baking sheets. As it cools, it will harden into a crunchy snack.
Once cooled, break the cereal into bite-sized clusters and transfer to an airtight container for storage.
