Ingredients:
For the Sirloin Steak:
2 sirloin steaks (about 1-inch thick)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs (optional)
For the Mushroom and Herb Sauce:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup white wine (optional)
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:

Cook the Sirloin Steaks:
Season the Steaks: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
Sear the Steaks: Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
Add Garlic and Butter: Reduce the heat to medium, add the minced garlic, butter, and fresh herbs (if using). Baste the steaks with the melted butter for an additional minute. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest while you prepare the sauce.
Prepare the Mushroom and Herb Sauce:
Cook the Mushrooms: In the same skillet, add the olive oil and butter for the sauce. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender.
Add Garlic and Wine: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. If using, add the white wine and simmer until reduced by half.
Make the Sauce: Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Stir in the fresh thyme and parsley. Simmer the sauce for 5 minutes until it thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
Plate the Dish: Slice the sirloin steaks and arrange them on a plate. Spoon the mushroom and herb sauce generously over the top.
Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with extra fresh herbs if desired, and serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
Enjoy this savory, rich, and utterly satisfying Savory Sirloin Steak with Mushrooms and Herb Sauce, perfect for any steak lover!
