Bourbon Brûlée Pumpkin Pie

Bourbon Brûlée Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients:
– 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
– 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree
– ¾ cup brown sugar
– ½ teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– ½ teaspoon ground ginger
– ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
– ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
– 3 large eggs
– 1 cup heavy cream
– ¼ cup bourbon
– ¼ cup granulated sugar (for brûlée topping)

Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and trim the edges. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.
2. In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. Mix well.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the heavy cream and bourbon until smooth and well combined.
4. Pour the pumpkin filling into the prepared pie crust.
5. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Allow the pie to cool completely before adding the brûlée topping.
7. To create the brûlée topping, sprinkle the granulated sugar evenly over the surface of the pie.
8. Use a kitchen torch to carefully caramelize the sugar until it is golden brown and crispy. If you don’t have a torch, you can place the pie under a broiler for a few minutes, but watch it closely to avoid burning.
