Fried S’mores Bombs
8 large marshmallows
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or small chocolate chunks
8 graham cracker squares, crushed
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup graham cracker crumbs (for coating)
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
2 large eggs
Vegetable oil, for frying
Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the marshmallows:
Push 1-2 teaspoons of mini chocolate chips or small chocolate chunks into the center of each large marshmallow. Set aside.
Set up the coating stations:
In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour and salt.
In a second bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs.
In a third bowl, combine the crushed graham cracker squares with the graham cracker crumbs.
Coat the marshmallows:
Roll each marshmallow first in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with the graham cracker crumbs.
Ensure each marshmallow is fully coated. Repeat if necessary to achieve a thick, even coating.
Heat the oil:
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the marshmallows:
Carefully place a few coated marshmallows into the hot oil.
Fry for about 1-2 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Repeat with remaining marshmallows.
Serve:
Allow the fried s’mores bombs to cool slightly before serving.
Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes :
For a fun twist, try adding a bit of cinnamon to the graham cracker crumbs.
These treats are best enjoyed fresh and warm, but you can reheat them in the oven at a low temperature for a few minutes if needed.
