Ingredients:
For the Fish Fingers:
1 lb white fish fillets (like cod or haddock), cut into strips
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
For the Homemade Chips:
4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thick chips
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
Prepare the chips:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss the potato chips in vegetable oil, salt, paprika, and pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
Prepare the fish fingers:
Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes. Place flour in the first dish, beaten eggs in the second, and a mix of breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the third.
Dredge each fish strip in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Fry the fish fingers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
