Crispy Fried Ice Cream Delight
Ingredients:
1 quart vanilla ice cream
3 cups cornflakes, crushed
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Oil for frying
Whipped cream, for serving
Chocolate syrup, for serving
Maraschino cherries, for garnish
Directions:
Scoop the ice cream into 8 balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until very firm.
In a shallow dish, mix the crushed cornflakes and ground cinnamon.
In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
Roll each ice cream ball in the flour, then dip into the egg mixture, and finally coat with the cornflake mixture. Ensure each ball is fully coated. Place back on the baking sheet and freeze for an additional hour.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F (190°C).
Fry the ice cream balls for 10-15 seconds, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve immediately, topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a maraschino cherry.
