Garbage Bread
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup diced onion
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
11 oz tube of Pillsbury refrigerated French bread dough
1/3 cup ketchup
3 tbsp mustard
6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (or 1 package bacon pieces)
2 dill pickle spears, chopped
8 slices American cheese
1 large egg, beaten
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Thousand Island dressing (for serving)
Directions:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the diced onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Remove from heat and drain any excess fat.
Roll out the refrigerated French bread dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming a large rectangle.
Spread the ketchup and mustard evenly over the dough.
Layer the ground beef mixture on top, followed by the crumbled bacon, chopped pickles, and slices of American cheese.
Roll the dough tightly, starting from one long end, like a jelly roll. Pinch the edges to seal.
Brush the top of the bread with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. Serve with Thousand Island dressing on the side for dipping.
